On Saturday we hosted a novel writing workshop, Keeping the Balloon in the Air, presented by Belfast novelist Glenn Patterson. He talked about his own methods of getting a manuscript completed and gave us lots of useful tips for getting a piece of writing started and seeing it through to the end. Writers sometimes get discouraged or lose interest before they complete a project so this was a topic that was very beneficial to consider and it was presented in an engaging and entertaining manner.

The day has stuck in Glenn’s memory too as he’s written about it in the Guardian.
