Tails low resOn Thursday evening Fermanagh Writers launched our second anthology, Tails of the Unexpected. The book is a collection of animal stories and poems produced to aid of Bright Eyes Animal Sanctuary. The stories and poems are the work of Fermanagh Writers’ members and guest authors Carlo Gebler and Seamas Mac Annaidh. All proceeds from the book will go to Bright Eyes.

Charlie’s Bar in Enniskillen was packed for the launch. We were pleased that members of the family of the founder of Bright Eyes, the late Pat Nolan, were able to join us as well as the manager, Simon Bryant, and staff from the sanctuary. Many supporters of the sanctuary were also there.

There was wine & nibbles and we must thank Tammy Swift and her helpers for organising it. Whenever we have a social occasion we can count on Tammy to put on a great spread. Ken Ramsey ably MC’d the formal part of the evening and contributors to the book read tasters of their work. The evening ended with a sing song around the fireplace.

Copies of the book are available in most veterinary offices and pet shops as well as other selected shops in Co Fermanagh. The price is £4.99. If you are unable to find a copy email us at fermanaghwriters@aol.com.
