This weekend Fermanagh Writers presented A Patchwork of Words against the backdrop of a wonderful patchwork quilt exhibition by Valerie Eames at Fermanagh Live Festival in Enniskillen. This is our third year at the festival and it keeps getting better. We are always delighted to be involved.
We’ve moved up in the world this year as we shared stories and poems on the top floor of a brand new hall with good acoustics. A keen audience listened to our work and

passers by from the quilt exhibition were also drawn in. Our programme was relaxed as we shared our work for one hour on Friday and over three hours on Saturday with breaks for tea and chatting. This format allowed time for individual writers to share a selection of their writings. It was unhurried for the performers and great value for the audience.
Each year our writers grow as performers as the festival itself also grows. It’s a great mix and we look forward to next year.
